BJP Prepares Political Report Card for 61,000 Booths Ahead of Urban Local Body Elections

Jaipur, August 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ramping up its organizational preparations at the booth level in Rajasthan ahead of the upcoming urban local body elections. The party is creating a political report card for approximately 61,000 booths. Each booth will be classified into categories A, B, C, and D based on the party’s performance in the previous Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body elections.

The BJP believes that in local body elections, not only the government’s achievements matter but also the candidate’s local acceptance, the activity of booth organization, and consistent outreach to voters are crucial. Therefore, the party is identifying both the strongest and weakest booths to devise strategies in advance.

Reorganization of Booth Committees
After the report card is prepared, the plan is to enhance organizational activities at weaker booths. This will involve restructuring booth committees, recruiting new workers, increasing contact with local influencers, and prioritizing voter engagement.

The organization will assess the activity of workers at the booth level, analyze data from past elections, and evaluate local political equations. The aim is to strengthen organizational presence in areas where performance has been consistently weak before the elections.

Category A: The Strongest Booths
According to the proposed categorization, booths classified as A will be those where the party has won in all three elections—Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body. These booths are considered the party’s strongest base.

Category B: Weakness at the Local Level
Booths in category B will include those where the BJP won in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections but fell short in local body elections. A separate review will be conducted for local candidates, organizational issues, and matters related to the municipal bodies at these booths.

Category C: Loss in Two Elections
Category C will consist of booths where the BJP has only won one out of the last three elections, facing losses in the other two. There is a recognized need for increased organizational activity in these areas.

Category D: Continuous Losses
The weakest booths will fall into category D, where the party has lost in all three elections—Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body. These booths will be marked as areas requiring special focus, and new local strategies will be developed.

Focus on Local Issues and Youth Movements
In light of recent youth movements, the growing resonance of local issues, and signals from by-elections in other states, the party organization is adopting a more vigilant strategy. Data-driven preparations are being made at every level, from ticket distribution to booth management, for the local body elections.
