BJP President Criticizes Ashok Gehlots Response to Nitin Naveens Remarks

Jaipur, October 10: BJP state president Madan Rathore has deemed former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s reaction to BJP national president Nitin Naveen’s comments as unnecessary. Rathore stated that as the leader of a national political party, Naveen advised Congress leaders to adhere to the established procedure for meeting with the Election Commissioner.

He emphasized that bringing hundreds of people to meet the Election Commissioner and showcasing power is not an appropriate process. A designated number of representatives should schedule a time to present their grievances and arguments, and Congress should follow this protocol as well.

“Bringing hundreds of people to meet the Election Commissioner and demonstrating power is not an appropriate process,” said Madan Rathore, BJP state president.

‘Sometimes 240, Sometimes 400 People’

Rathore pointed out that Congress claims to meet with the Election Commissioner with either 240 or 400 individuals, stressing that discussions should be based on facts and arguments. He noted that this issue is not about advocating for the Election Commissioner, but rather about following the established procedure for presenting matters before democratic institutions.

The BJP state president accused Congress of attempting to create confusion and maintain media attention instead of addressing real grievances. He asserted that Gehlot’s response to this advice was inappropriate.

Demand for Gehlot to Address Rahul Gandhi’s Behavior

Rathore remarked that due to Ashok Gehlot’s public image, he should move beyond political rhetoric and clearly address the conduct of his party leaders. He urged Gehlot to comment on the behavior of Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi towards a female police officer, which Rathore described as “indecent behavior.”

He emphasized that maintaining decorum and dignity in public life is the responsibility of every elected representative. The position of Opposition Leader is significant and honorable in democracy, and it is expected that the individual holding this position behaves in a manner befitting its dignity.

Action Taken in JNU Case

Rathore referenced the case involving Congress MP and JNU professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, stating that if inappropriate demands were made from female students in exchange for grades, it is a serious matter. He insisted that the safety, respect, and dignity of female students in educational institutions must be prioritized, and mere suspension is insufficient.

The situation has progressed beyond suspension. Following an internal committee investigation into complaints from 11 female students, JNU dismissed Professor Akoijam on October 9, with the order issued by Vice Chancellor Santishree D. Pandit. Akoijam, a Congress MP from Inner Manipur, has denied the allegations.

Rathore stated that both the Opposition Leader’s behavior towards the female police officer and the case involving the Congress MP are shameful for the country’s democracy. He questioned why Ashok Gehlot has not openly responded to these issues.
