
Udaipur, March 13:
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram, Mohanlal Sukhadia University hosted a vibrant musical festival titled “Shatabdi Swar – Vande Mataram.” This event, organized by the Office of Student Welfare, captivated the audience with patriotic performances.
The grand celebration took place in the Faculty of Management Studies auditorium, where Pandit Gautam Kale from Indore led a group of 24 talented musicians, including Dr. Pamil Modi, head of the music department. Their performances brought to life themes of patriotism, national pride, and the sacrifices of freedom fighters through music and lyrics.
The chief guest for the event was Professor Manju Bagmar, the Minister of Women and Child Development, while the event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor B.P. Saraswat.
A Wave of Patriotism Through Music:
The program commenced with a heartfelt rendition of “Vasundhara Parivar Hamara,” followed by the stirring piece “Humein Veer Keshav Mile Aap Jab Se,” which captivated the audience. Another performance, “Nirmal Payen Bhavna Yehi Rashtra Aradhana,” highlighted the sentiments of revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The presentation “Poojya Maa Ki Archana Ki Ek Chhota Upkaran Hoon” conveyed that when society is inspired by leaders like Veer Keshav, it ignites a spirit of service, sacrifice, and discipline among the people. The song “Man Samarpit, Tan Samarpit Aur Ye Jeevan Samarpit” emphasized unity, courage, and a commitment to the motherland.
Participants were moved to chant slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” during the performances, which included “Le Chale Hum Rashtra Nauka Ko Bhavhar Se Paar Tak Kesari Bana Sajaye Veer Ka Shringar Kar.”
The musical event featured performances by numerous artists, including Himanshi Shimli, Himank Gandharv, and Jyotibala Swarnkar, among others. Accompanying them were musicians on guitar, tabla, harmonium, octopad, and keyboard, creating a rich musical experience.
For Those Connected to the Nation, the Nation Comes First: Vice-Chancellor
Vice-Chancellor Professor B.P. Saraswat remarked on the challenging journey of the organization over the past century, emphasizing that true patriots prioritize the nation. He urged every citizen to stay connected to the country. Professor Manju Bagmar echoed this sentiment, stating that as long as the nation remains a priority for its people, society and institutions will thrive.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Professor Meera Mathur, Dr. V.C. Garg, and other faculty members. The guests also unveiled a commemorative poster during the celebration.
