Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Swift Action Leads to Arrest
Jaipur, January 30 In a decisive move against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pali division, arrested Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Inspector Narendra Singh while accepting a bribe of ₹4,000. The official was caught red-handed while taking the bribe in exchange for processing a business verification file without imposing penalties.

Bribe Demanded for Business Verification and Penalty Waiver
According to Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of Police (DGP), Anti-Corruption Bureau, the ACB Pali-II team received a complaint from a business owner regarding illegal bribe demands made by CGST Inspector Narendra Singh.
- The complainant’s firm was under verification, and the accused officer demanded ₹4,000 to approve the file and ensure that no penalties were imposed.
- The ACB verified the complaint, confirming that the officer was soliciting the bribe before taking action.
ACB’s Well-Planned Trap Operation
Following confirmation of bribe solicitation, a special team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kheev Singh laid a trap operation on Thursday, successfully catching Narendra Singh in the act of accepting ₹4,000 in bribe money.
Attempt to Dispose of Bribe Money Foiled
Realizing the presence of ACB officers, the accused inspector panicked and threw the bribe money on the road in an attempt to discard the evidence. However, the ACB team recovered the cash immediately, securing proof of the corrupt transaction.
Legal Action Initiated Under Corruption Laws
The arrested CGST inspector has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigations are underway to determine if more instances of misconduct are linked to him.
