Sachin Pilot Criticizes Central Government on Inflation, NEET Paper Leak, and Unemployment During Tonk Visit

Mumbai, May 25: Congress General Secretary and Tonk MLA Sachin Pilot launched a strong attack on the central government during his visit to the Tonk assembly constituency on Monday. He highlighted pressing issues such as inflation, the NEET paper leak, unemployment, and foreign policy. Pilot stated that petrol and diesel prices have been consistently rising since the election results, causing a double burden of inflation on the common people.

Pilot emphasized that if the government needed to increase fuel prices, it should have informed the public beforehand. He accused the government of neglecting the struggles of ordinary citizens, as the rising costs of petrol and diesel directly impact the prices of essential goods, including food items.

During his tour, Pilot listened to the concerns of residents in several villages. He also visited the family of a student who recently committed suicide, offering condolences and calling for a fair investigation to ensure justice for the grieving family. He insisted that strict action should be taken against anyone found guilty in the police inquiry.

Pilot also addressed the NEET paper leak issue, noting that irregularities have been reported for the third consecutive year. He criticized the government for merely handing over the matter to investigative agencies, thereby evading responsibility. He alleged that an organized education mafia is behind the paper leaks, and the government has failed to take effective action against it.

He pointed out that the issue came to light when students complained about similarities between the guess papers and the main question paper. Pilot remarked that the government did not disclose any information on its own; the matter surfaced only after students raised their concerns.

On foreign policy and oil purchases, Pilot questioned the central government’s approach. He asserted that India should maintain equal relations with all countries and have an independent energy policy. He stressed that India should have the autonomy to decide whether to buy oil from countries like Russia, Iran, or Venezuela.

Pilot accused the current government of facing increasing external pressures, which could adversely affect the nation’s economic policies and farmers.

He also criticized the state government for delaying local body and panchayat elections. Pilot noted that the courts have repeatedly instructed the government to conduct elections, yet they have not been held. He alleged that the government is avoiding elections due to fear of defeat and the potential success of Congress.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the lack of elections is impacting Rajasthan’s allocation of thousands of crores from the central government.

Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign trips, Pilot highlighted the contradiction of the Prime Minister traveling abroad while advising the public to save money. He claimed that during this inflationary period, the burden is falling on the poor, while government ministers evade accountability.
