First National Lok Adalat of 2026 Scheduled for March 14

Udaipur, March 13: The first National Lok Adalat of 2026 is set to take place on Saturday, March 14. This event will run from 10 AM to 5 PM, focusing on resolving cases through mutual settlements.

According to the directives of the National Legal Services Authority, all preparations for the Lok Adalat in Udaipur have been completed under the supervision of the State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority Chairman, Gyanprakash Gupta (District and Sessions Judge).

The Secretary of the Legal Services Authority, ADJ Kuldeep Sharma, stated that necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate the resolution of as many settlement-eligible cases as possible. The Lok Adalat will also be held in revenue courts. Benches have been established for case resolutions.

The National Lok Adalat will address pre-litigation cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, recovery of debts, labor and employment disputes, issues related to electricity, water, and other bill payments (excluding non-compoundable cases), maintenance cases, revenue disputes, land measurement and division of holdings, civil disputes, service matters, consumer disputes, and other settlement-eligible disputes related to various authorities.

Additionally, it will handle settlement-eligible criminal cases pending in court, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act), recovery cases, M.A.C.T. cases, labor and employment disputes, and employee compensation cases. Other matters include disputes related to electricity, water, and other bill payments (excluding non-compoundable cases), family disputes (excluding divorce), land acquisition cases, all types of service matters (excluding promotion and seniority disputes), and various revenue matters. The Lok Adalat will also resolve commercial disputes, banking disputes, issues related to non-government educational institutions, cooperative disputes, disputes with local bodies (development authorities/municipal corporations, etc.), real estate disputes, railway claims, income tax disputes, and other tax-related disputes, as well as consumer and vendor/service provider disputes.

All eligible cases pending before various authorities, commissions, and forums will also be addressed during this event.
