Ranchi, April 8 The INDIA Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Jharkhand warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds over the next three days, starting from April 9. The alerts include both Yellow and Orange warnings, depending on the intensity and areas affected.

Thunderstorm and Hail Warning for April 9
On April 9, southern, central, and north-eastern districts of Jharkhand are expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by winds gusting at 30-40 kmph. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for these regions. There is also a chance of hailstorms in parts of east-central and adjacent north-central districts, increasing the risk of localized damage.
Orange Alert Issued for April 10
The weather is expected to intensify on April 10, prompting the IMD to issue an Orange Alert for eastern, central, and nearby northern-central parts of the state. Thunderstorms with hailstorm activity and wind speeds between 40-50 kmph are forecast. Southern-central and north-eastern regions may also see isolated thunderstorm activity with similar wind speeds, while north-western districts are predicted to face moderate thunderstorm and wind conditions.
Severe Weather Expected on April 11
On April 11, most regions of the state—except the north-western parts—are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by winds reaching 40-50 kmph. The Orange Alert has been extended to include these areas as well. North-western parts, previously under moderate risk, have now also been issued an Orange Alert, signaling the potential for adverse weather.
