
Mumbai, April 19: In a significant crackdown, police from Kotri and Devgarh have uncovered three cases of illegal opium trafficking. Acting on the directives of SP B. Aditya, the operation led to the seizure of opium valued at approximately ₹17.34 lakh.
Three suspects have been arrested, and one minor has been detained. The Kotri police apprehended an individual with 821 grams of opium, while the Devgarh police seized 1 kilogram and 100 grams of opium in the first case. In a second incident in Devgarh, another suspect was arrested with 1 kilogram and 546 grams of opium.
Additionally, two motorcycles used in the trafficking were confiscated during the operation. The police conducted this action while monitoring checkpoints and patrolling the area, leading to the capture of the suspects. Investigations are currently underway in all three cases.
