Kota, June 17: Political tensions are escalating in Kota as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi prepares for his upcoming visit. The party has criticized the state government for removing posters and banners related to the event. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has condemned this action as contrary to democratic values, while senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot has accused the administration of attempting to suppress the event’s promotion through pressure tactics.
Pilot highlighted that the current education and examination system has adversely affected millions of students and their families. He pointed out that controversies surrounding the NEET exam have shaken the confidence of countless youth. Additionally, ongoing questions regarding various recruitment exams and evaluation processes have persisted. He claims that instead of ensuring accountability in these matters, the government is evading responsibility.
Despite the investigation into the NEET paper leak, Pilot noted that no substantial political or administrative accountability has been established. According to him, Rahul Gandhi’s campaign is closely tied to the sentiments of students and youth, aiming to raise their issues and concerns on a national platform.
Pilot emphasized that Kota is a major educational hub where a significant number of students prepare for competitive exams. During his visit, Rahul Gandhi will engage directly with students to hear their concerns and experiences related to the examination system. He asserted that the administration is exerting pressure to hinder the event, removing promotional materials and discouraging public participation.
Nevertheless, Pilot remains optimistic that a large number of students, youth, and the general public will attend the event. He clarified that this gathering is not merely a political rally but a platform for dialogue with youth and students, focusing on issues related to their future, education system, and employment.
