Satish Poonia Critiques Congress on Delhi Visits and Development Initiatives

Jodhpur, July 6: Satish Poonia, the Haryana in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP, responded sharply to Congress’s criticism regarding the Chief Minister‘s frequent trips to Delhi. He emphasized that these visits are essential for advocating for the state, reviewing plans, and securing budgets. Poonia contrasted this with Congress’s approach, stating, “In Congress, it’s about going to Delhi to save the chair or the party.”

During a media interaction in Jodhpur on Monday, Poonia reiterated that the Chief Minister has consistently mentioned that he brings back valuable resources for the state from his Delhi visits. He stated that coordinating with the central government on state plans, development projects, and budget matters is a normal part of governance.

When questioned about the issue of delimitation, Poonia remarked that it is part of a systematic process. He criticized Rahul Gandhi, Congress, and Ashok Gehlot for refusing to acknowledge any system. He stressed the importance of respecting institutional processes in a democratic framework.

Poonia also targeted Gehlot regarding the refinery project, asserting that the public looks for results rather than mere announcements. He recalled that in 2013, when Congress was set to lose power, Sonia Gandhi was called to inaugurate the refinery.

He pointed out that the prolonged presence of different governments at the center and state levels in Rajasthan has adversely affected development initiatives. Poonia accused Gehlot’s government of hindering the successful implementation of several central schemes, including the Jal Jeevan Mission, due to corruption.

On the refinery issue, Poonia stated that while Gehlot may have made the announcement, it was the BJP government that brought it to fruition. He urged Gehlot to acknowledge this achievement and not be stingy in praising good initiatives.

Reflecting on his new responsibilities, Poonia shared that he began his journey as a common worker and gradually took on more significant roles. He noted that in the organization, responsibilities are assigned based on the worker’s dedication and effort.

Poonia also addressed the ongoing research on camel conservation. He highlighted the deep connection between camels and Rajasthan, referring to them as the “ships of the desert.” He mentioned the National Camel Research Center in Bikaner, which focuses on camel breeds, conservation, and related products.

He discussed the work being done on camel milk and its products, such as ice cream. Additionally, research is underway to study the lower incidence of diabetes among the Raika and Rebari communities, who traditionally herd camels. When asked what message he would give to workers about camel conservation, Poonia humorously remarked that those who keep camels will receive tickets for elections.
