Jaipur, April 18: A tragic incident in the Jhotwara police station area of Jaipur has resulted in the deaths of two workers due to toxic gas exposure while working in a sewage line. Following this incident, opposition leader Tikaram Julie, former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, and city Congress president Sunil Sharma visited the hospital mortuary to meet with the families of the deceased workers.
The atmosphere in the city is one of mourning and anger. Initial reports indicate that the two workers succumbed to toxic gas while on the job, raising serious concerns about safety standards and the contracting system in place.
Accompanied by Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and Sunil Sharma, Tikaram Julie offered condolences to the grieving families and demanded accountability from the administration. They called for government jobs and compensation for the victims’ families.
This incident could escalate politically, as the lack of safety equipment and negligence in hazardous jobs like sewage work has long been a concern. Currently, the administration is investigating the incident to determine the level of negligence involved.
