Tonk, April 28: Radhmohan Das Agarwal, the BJP state in-charge, launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Sachin Pilot during a party worker conference in Tonk. He stated that there was a time when BJP had its own MLA in Tonk, but now it has become a “bahrupiya” (imposter) MLA.
In his address, Agarwal remarked, “We used to have our own MLA in Tonk. Today, an imposter has become the MLA. He is neither a resident of your Tonk nor of Rajasthan.”
Agarwal emphasized his strong political roots in Uttar Pradesh, asserting that he could never imagine becoming an MLA in another state. “I would never dream of being an MLA in Rajasthan. I am not a fugitive from UP; I am a strong politician from there,” he stated.
He accused the Congress of imposing external leaders, questioning the tradition of sending someone from another state who is then welcomed with garlands. Agarwal claimed that some individuals formed groups to influence the public and get themselves elected.
With a hint of sarcasm, he said, “One leg stays in Congress, and the other is who knows where.” His comments elicited a strong reaction from the attendees, who responded with chants.
This statement from Agarwal comes at a time when BJP National President Nitin Naveen is on a tour of Rajasthan, emphasizing the need to strengthen the organization through the booth worker conference in Tonk.
Political analysts believe that these remarks from BJP leaders in Tonk are part of a strategy to create a political atmosphere in what is considered a stronghold for Congress ahead of the upcoming elections.
