Ashok Gehlot Accuses NDA Government of Ignoring Opposition Voices in Democracy Fight

Jaipur, July 21: Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has accused the NDA government at the center of neglecting the demands of the opposition and the sentiments of the public. He expressed serious concerns about the direction the country is heading in under the current circumstances. Gehlot stated that the government fails to provide clear responses on crucial issues or address the questions raised by the opposition.

Gehlot highlighted the growing anger among the public and youth across the nation, asserting that the Congress movement is a fight to protect democracy and constitutional values. He alleged that rather than listening to the opposition, there is an attempt to suppress its voice.

In support of the protest led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge near the Prime Minister’s residence, the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee organized a demonstration at Ambedkar Circle in Jaipur. Senior Congress leaders, legislators, officials, and workers participated in this protest.

Demand for Resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan

Before the protest, Gehlot called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the paper leak issue. He stated that alleged irregularities in examinations and the paper leak have adversely affected the futures of millions of students, necessitating accountability.

Gehlot remarked that the central government’s silence and tendency to avoid dialogue have led to a situation where opposition leaders had to sit in protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence.

Accusations of Ignoring Opposition Demands

The former Chief Minister alleged that the NDA government does not take the demands of opposition parties seriously. He noted that the government fails to provide satisfactory responses to public interest issues raised both inside and outside Parliament.

He emphasized that in a democratic system, the government’s responsibility extends beyond decision-making; it must also listen to the opposition, respond to public questions, and uphold the independence of constitutional institutions.

Congress Signals Continuation of Movement

At Ambedkar Circle, Congress leaders and workers raised slogans against the central government, demanding fair action in the paper leak case and political accountability.

Congress leaders stated that the party’s movement will continue on issues affecting students, youth, and the general public. They urged the central government to establish dialogue and investigate the roles of those in responsible positions in the paper leak incident.
