BJPs Madan Rathore Criticizes Rahul Gandhis Conduct, Calls for Dignity in Leadership

Jaipur, October 13: During a press conference at the BJP state office, party president Madan Rathore condemned the recent behavior of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He expressed concern over Gandhi’s treatment of female police officers and journalists, labeling it as inappropriate and unacceptable.

Rathore emphasized that while democracy allows for free expression, leaders must conduct themselves with dignity, decorum, and responsibility. He stated that the position of Leader of the Opposition is significant, and the individual occupying this role should embody seriousness and respect.

“We have also spent years in opposition. Leaders of the opposition set standards in democracy, and the current erosion of democratic norms poses a threat to the nation,” Rathore remarked.

In Delhi, BJP leaders echoed these sentiments, staging a protest outside the Congress headquarters and demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party has yet to respond to these allegations.

Rathore’s Advice to Gehlot: Use Experience Wisely

Commenting on former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s statements, Rathore advised him to utilize his political experience to guide his party leaders appropriately. He suggested that instead of supporting leaders who exhibit poor behavior, Gehlot should encourage them to acknowledge their mistakes and improve.

Rathore raised concerns that Gehlot might want the negative actions of Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge to tarnish their images, paving the way for Kharge to become the national president of Congress. He referenced Gehlot’s earlier claim of being a candidate for the Congress presidency in 2022, amidst discussions about appointing Sachin Pilot as Chief Minister.

On Dotasra: Parties Cannot Rely Solely on Officials

Addressing state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, Rathore remarked that he appears to be dreaming unrealistic dreams. He asserted that no political party can function effectively by relying solely on officials, as evidenced by Congress’s current situation. Rathore pointed out that the BJP operates based on the strength of its workers and public support.

On October 5, Dotasra, along with Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Julie, submitted a memorandum to Police Chief Rajiv Kumar Sharma, alleging misuse of police resources in municipal elections and demanding fairness in the upcoming panchayat elections. Following this, Dotasra accused others of threatening candidates for the panchayat elections on October 6 and 7.

On Law and Order: Accountability for Police Personnel

Rathore dismissed opposition claims regarding law and order as baseless. He stated that the police are taking immediate action against criminals and that the government does not support criminal activities. He assured that if police personnel are found guilty in any case, action will be taken against them, emphasizing that the law applies equally to everyone without political interference.

On the same day, following a law and order review meeting led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the police department took action against nine officials, including the suspension of the Bharatpur Vaer station officer. Six officials were transferred, and two were removed from their positions. A day earlier, Gehlot had criticized the government regarding the Bhadhana murder case, claiming that law and order had deteriorated.

Panchayat Elections: Limited Campaign Time but Strong Organization

Regarding the panchayat elections, Rathore mentioned that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and party leaders had begun preparations well in advance of the election process, engaging with various districts. He noted that the Chief Minister decided to hold elections simultaneously, which may limit the campaign time for senior leaders, but local workers and representatives will actively participate in the campaign.

He confirmed that candidates were selected after a review, and those who did not receive tickets would be assigned responsibilities within the organization. Rathore expressed confidence that the BJP would contest the elections unitedly and achieve a greater majority than before, reiterating a similar sentiment he expressed on September 30, attributing the municipal election victory to the party workers.
