Jaipurs Vision for a High-Tech Future: Signal-Free Roads and Modern Developments

Jaipur, November 6: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has instructed the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to devise a traffic plan aimed at making key intersections on JLN Marg signal-free. He emphasized that the High-Tech City and MediCity projects should be developed to establish a new identity for Jaipur. This directive came during a review meeting of the JDA’s operations on Friday.
Prioritizing Pedestrian Safety and Parking
The Chief Minister highlighted the need for an effective action plan to ease traffic congestion in the city. He stressed that the traffic improvement plan should prioritize safe pedestrian movement and parking facilities. Additionally, he urged the Chief Secretary and departmental officials to conduct on-site inspections. The development of Jaipur should consider both current and future urban needs, aiming to position the city as a model for urban development.
Investment Opportunities for Non-Resident Rajasthani Communities
Regarding the High-Tech City project, the Chief Minister noted that Jaipur’s proximity to Delhi and the presence of non-resident Rajasthani communities worldwide open up new avenues for development and investment. He called for a model that incorporates modern technology and world-class amenities. In reviewing the MediCity project, he emphasized the importance of developing it with advanced medical facilities.
Timelines for Projects and Accountability for Delays
The Chief Minister directed that all development projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframes. Clear timelines should be established for each project, with regular monitoring. He warned that unnecessary delays and negligence would not be tolerated at any level, and strict action would be taken against responsible officials and employees in such cases.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan, Additional Chief Secretary Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Vaibhav Gahlot, and JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, among other officials.
In recent weeks, the JDA has made several significant decisions. On October 23, it approved ₹47.87 crore for the Gopalpura underpass and proposed ₹42.39 crore for the widening of Kalwar Road. On November 5, plans were announced for two new residential schemes in Dudu’s Bhojpur and Manpura Tilawala.
