Congress Leader Raises Concerns Over Teacher Transfers in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 9: Congress state president and Laxmangarh MLA Govind Singh Dotasra has sent a letter to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressing his objections regarding recent teacher transfers in the education department. Dotasra has alleged that the BJP government is targeting the Shekhawati region with political malice and misusing administrative powers to carry out large-scale transfers of teachers in areas including Sikar, Churu, and Jhunjhunu.

In his letter, Dotasra emphasized that while a majority government has the right to govern, it does not have the right to target specific regions, representatives, or their constituents. He pointed out that the statistics regarding teacher transfers in Shekhawati are alarming and are adversely affecting the educational system in the region.

Dotasra claimed that nearly 400 teachers have already been transferred from the Laxmangarh assembly constituency alone. He accused the government of not just following administrative procedures but also attempting to undermine the mandate, representation, and educational framework of the area.

The Congress president highlighted that in the recent list of second-grade teachers, out of 808 transfers from the Churu education board, 356 were made on administrative grounds. In the Laxmangarh assembly constituency, 147 out of 174 transfers were also based on administrative reasons, accounting for approximately 84.48 percent of the total.

He further noted that in the previous list of lecturer transfers, 122 out of 143 from Laxmangarh were made on administrative grounds, which is 85.31 percent. Similarly, in the principal list, 71 out of 81 transfers were administrative, representing 87.65 percent.

Dotasra questioned whether the policy being adopted is to intimidate and harass teachers through transfers instead of focusing on education. He alleged that this situation is not limited to Shekhawati but extends to other regions in the state where Congress representatives are present. However, the consistent targeting of a single division and assembly area raises serious concerns.

He stated that if the government is taking such steps to silence representatives who raise public interest issues, it contradicts democratic values. Dotasra asserted that attempts to suppress the voice of the public have never succeeded.

He urged the Chief Minister to take cognizance of this matter, emphasizing the need for transparency, fairness, and consideration of the educational system’s interests in the teacher transfer process. Dotasra reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the interests of his constituents, students, and teachers, both now and in the future.
