DK Shivakumar Appeals for Calm Ahead of Swearing-In Ceremony

Bengaluru, May 31: Karnataka’s incoming Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, has urged party workers and supporters to maintain composure ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for June 3. He specifically mentioned his allergy to floral garlands, requesting that no supporter attempt to adorn him with such offerings.

In a conversation with journalists, Shivakumar expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and affection from his supporters. However, he emphasized the importance of keeping the event organized and dignified. He urged supporters to avoid gathering in unnecessary crowds and to cooperate with administrative arrangements.

Shivakumar noted that the swearing-in ceremony is a significant occasion in democratic traditions and should be conducted with simplicity and discipline. He advised workers that if space is limited and not everyone can enter the venue, they can still participate from outside.

He reiterated his allergy to floral garlands, encouraging supporters to find alternative ways to welcome him. Additionally, he called on all workers to participate in a peaceful and disciplined manner during the event.

It is noteworthy that following the Congress leadership’s decision, DK Shivakumar will take the oath of office along with the new cabinet on June 3. There is a palpable excitement among Karnataka Congress workers, with a large turnout of supporters expected.
