Leaders Advocate for Rights of Hearing-Impaired Students in Jaipur

Jaipur, August 6: Leaders from the opposition, Tikaram Julie and Congress whip Rafiq Khan, visited the Government Seth Anandilal Poddar School for the Hearing Impaired on Wednesday to meet with protesting students. They aimed to understand the students’ issues through sign language and their expressions. Julie expressed deep concern over the silence of the children and the pain evident in their eyes.

The opposition leader questioned why hearing-impaired students are denied access to schools, trained teachers, and dignified education. He highlighted that these children, who should be dreaming about their futures in classrooms, are instead forced to protest for their basic rights. The government must address their issues with sensitivity and urgency.

Julie noted that every gesture from the students reflected their struggles, and their faces displayed helplessness. He claimed that the children look to their eyes for solutions and justice. He emphasized that students with special needs cannot express their troubles in conventional ways, increasing the responsibility of the government and administration.

Julie accused the BJP government of being insensitive towards education and the needs of special children. He stated that ignoring children’s rights is not just an administrative failure but a serious humanitarian issue. He criticized the government for not addressing students’ problems promptly, insisting that immediate decisions are necessary regarding education, the availability of trained teachers, and essential facilities.

These are Julie’s political allegations. A clearer picture will emerge once the state government or the education department provides their perspective.

Julie and Khan demanded that the state government initiate immediate dialogue regarding the students’ demands, provide necessary resources in schools, and ensure the availability of trained teachers. They stressed that it is the government’s responsibility to offer equal educational opportunities, a safe environment, and dignified facilities for children with special needs.
