Jaipur, June 27: In a strong critique, Tika Ram Julie, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, has slammed the BJP government for its failure to provide employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth. He stated that the current administration shows a complete lack of willpower to support young people in securing jobs and entrepreneurial ventures. Julie accused the government of being ineffective in implementing its own schemes, leaving Rajasthan’s youth feeling deceived.
Julie highlighted that the government has made grand claims regarding initiatives like the Chief Minister‘s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, Rising Rajasthan, and the Pachpadra Refinery. However, he pointed out that the expected benefits are not reaching the youth. He emphasized that mere announcements and publicity do not create jobs; timely implementation of schemes and administrative accountability are essential.
Regarding the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, Julie noted that while the government claims to empower youth as entrepreneurs, the slow processes of banks have left thousands of dreams stuck in paperwork. He mentioned alarming reports that in several districts, only 30% of applications are being forwarded to banks, which is a significant concern.
Julie questioned how the government expects youth to receive loans and start their businesses when it fails to process applications. He demanded an immediate high-level review of pending cases and accountability for officials whose negligence has caused delays in youth applications.
He insisted that the self-employment scheme should not be limited to paperwork and online portals. If the government genuinely wants to connect youth with entrepreneurship, it must simplify and expedite the banking process. Providing timely loans, grants, and guidance is the government’s responsibility.
On the topic of Rising Rajasthan, Julie criticized the government, stating that despite extensive publicity about investments and claims of millions in investment agreements, most projects have yet to materialize. He revealed that only 3,895 projects have commenced under Rising Rajasthan, while over 83% remain stuck on paper. He remarked that counting the number of events and MOUs does not create jobs for the youth.
Julie sarcastically noted that a household’s needs are met not through announcements but through real employment. He urged the government to move beyond event management and take concrete steps to facilitate investments and job creation.
He also addressed the delays in the Pachpadra Refinery project, asserting that the BJP government’s procrastination has deprived Rajasthan’s youth of millions of direct and indirect job opportunities. He accused the government of unnecessarily delaying this crucial project due to political bias.
Julie stated that if obstacles were not placed in this project, the Pachpadra Refinery would have been fully operational by now, providing jobs for youth, opportunities for local industries, and significant benefits to the regional economy. He claimed that the government’s sluggishness has harmed the rights of young people.
Finally, Julie asserted that the youth of Rajasthan will no longer be swayed by the hollow promises and eloquent speeches of the BJP government. He emphasized that young people want real employment, tangible benefits from government schemes, and accountability from their leaders.
He called for a review of pending applications under the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, transparency regarding the actual progress of Rising Rajasthan MOUs, and timely completion of major projects, including the Pachpadra Refinery. He warned that if the government does not take youth employment and future issues seriously, the Congress party will strongly raise these matters among the public.
