RAS Officer Advocates for Students Amid Ongoing Protests in Delhi

Jaipur, July 22: Amid ongoing student protests in Delhi demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and reforms in the examination system, Rajasthan Administrative Service officer Pankaj Ojha has sparked discussions with a recent Facebook post. Ojha, who serves as the Additional Director in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, shared a photo of his daughter and emphasized that students’ protests should not be vilified, as they represent the future of the nation.

The protests, driven by issues related to alleged exam and paper leaks, continue to gain momentum. Opposition parties are also calling for the resignation of the Education Minister, while the central government has expressed a willingness to find a solution through dialogue.

In his post, Ojha stated, “Do not tarnish the children’s protests, brothers; they are the future of our country. Our children are very innocent. They do not even know how to demand.” He pointed out that students are hoping for the resignation of Minister Pradhan, but merely replacing one minister will not provide a permanent solution. According to him, if fundamental reforms are not made, the situation will remain unchanged.

Ojha recounted his own experience with paper leaks during the RAS examination, noting that candidates’ two years of hard work were wasted. He mentioned that he and other candidates had met with the then-chairman to address these issues.

He stressed that students’ demands should extend beyond the resignation of a minister. A transparent and robust examination system must be established to prevent any future leaks.

Furthermore, Ojha called for severe penalties for those involved in paper leaks, suggesting that offenders should face execution within seven days. He clarified that this statement reflects his personal views, as legal proceedings and penalties are determined by applicable laws and judicial processes.

Ojha also advocated for financial support for the families of students who have tragically taken their own lives due to examination-related stress, proposing that one family member be granted a government job.

He concluded by emphasizing the need for a system that ensures students’ years of hard work do not go to waste. Their talents and intelligence should be fairly evaluated, providing deserving students with appropriate opportunities. He stated, “We need to elevate our children to heights where they can illuminate the world with their talent.”

At the end of his post, Ojha clarified that his comments are not aligned with any political party or individual. He expressed concern for his young daughter, who is distressed by the ongoing events, identifying himself as a father who cherishes her above all.
