Udaipur, March 24: Under the inspiration of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Panch Gaurav initiative has launched a residential training camp for budding swimmers at Maharana Pratap Sports Village in Udaipur. This camp, organized by District Collector Namit Mehta, provides young athletes with the opportunity to learn the intricacies of swimming.
As part of the Panch Gaurav scheme, the district administration, Udaipur Development Authority, and the Sports Training Center have conducted block-level talent search competitions. From these competitions, ten players from each block have been selected to receive 15 days of residential training.
During the morning sessions of the training camp, participants engage in sports activities, yoga, and receive essential information about swimming. District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal noted that on Monday, former mayor Rajni Dangi and sports manager Narendra Bhuriya from the Rajasthan State Sports Council visited the camp to learn about the ongoing programs.
Former mayor Dangi interacted with the athletes, encouraging them to practice the techniques learned at the camp continuously in their villages. She emphasized the importance of representing their panchayats, districts, and the nation with pride. Dangi praised the efforts of the District Sports Officer and instructed Dr. Paliwal to provide detailed information to further promote the sport of swimming.
In the evening sessions, the swimmers practiced various techniques, including backstroke and freestyle, divided into different groups. Under Dr. Paliwal’s guidance, trainers Anil Kumawat, Sunil Kumawat, Sunil Nakwal, Sandeep Soni, Dharmveer, Neha Kumawat, Rajesh Chauhan, and Dilip Purohit led the practice sessions. On Monday, all swimmers received sports attire, including lower t-shirts, shoes, and socks to enhance their training experience.
