
Udaipur, March 20: The seven-day workshop organized by the Manik Lal Verma Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRI) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, concluded with a ceremony attended by Laik Hussain, Director of the Indian Folk Art Mandal.
During the closing ceremony held at the Cultural Resources and Training Center (CRTC) in Udaipur, Mr. Hussain emphasized that mask art is deeply connected to tribal beliefs. He noted that artists approach mask-making with a sense of faith and devotion, which the community also perceives.
Chairing the event, TRI Director O.P. Jain highlighted the significance of mask art and shared the institute’s efforts to promote it. The workshop’s nodal officer, Mr. Sudhir Dave, Director of Statistics, expressed gratitude to all participants. Certificates of participation were awarded to the artists at the end of the event. Artists Khemraj Dindor from Banswara and Sangeeta Gameti from Udaipur also shared their experiences from the workshop.
