Chittorgarh, April 18: Villagers in Chittorgarh have raised their voices against the construction of a new fertilizer plant, labeling it illegal. During a public hearing with the district collector, they submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate removal of encroachments on the main road.
Harish Bairwa, a local representative, stated that residents have consistently opposed the establishment of the new plant due to its potential adverse effects on nearby communities. On April 16, during the public hearing, villagers presented their concerns, emphasizing that the plant does not comply with legal standards and should be shut down.
Additionally, they highlighted the illegal encroachments along the main highway, where large walls have been erected at zero meters on both sides. This has caused significant difficulties for passing vehicles and has been linked to numerous accidents, resulting in fatalities. Encroachers often manage to suppress complaints by paying off authorities.
Among those present were local leaders, including Panchayat member Chandra Bhan, Rameshwar Lal Jat, Panna Lal Jat, and several other villagers, all demanding the swift removal of illegal encroachments and the closure of the unauthorized plant.
