Bengaluru, June 1: Yatindra Siddaramaiah, son of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and a Congress MLC, has indicated a strong possibility of his inclusion in the upcoming cabinet of Karnataka’s new government. Speaking to the media on Sunday, he expressed optimism about receiving a ministerial position, stating that he has received assurances from the party leadership regarding this matter.
Yatindra expressed complete trust in the Congress leadership, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the party’s high command. He noted that he has had opportunities to work within both the organization and the government, and if given a ministerial responsibility, he would fulfill it with utmost dedication.
When asked about the possibility of becoming Deputy Chief Minister, Yatindra clarified that he has never made such a demand. He stated that neither he nor his supporters have proposed his name for the Deputy Chief Minister position to the party leadership.
Political activities are intensifying in Karnataka as discussions about the formation of the new government and cabinet expansion are underway. The Congress leadership is focused on finalizing the cabinet while considering social, regional, and political balance. Various leaders and their supporter groups are also voicing their demands for representation.
Political analysts view Yatindra Siddaramaiah’s comments as significant amid ongoing discussions about cabinet formation. However, the final decisions regarding ministerial positions and portfolios will ultimately be made by the Congress high command.
