West Bengals BJP Government to Expand Cabinet on June 1, 35 Legislators to Take Oath

Kolkata, June 1: West Bengal’s BJP government is set to undergo its first major cabinet expansion on Monday, nearly three weeks after its formation. The Chief Minister announced via social media that the oath-taking ceremony will take place at 11 AM, where at least 35 legislators will assume their ministerial positions. Governor R.N. Ravi will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers at the Lok Bhawan.

Political sources indicate that the new cabinet may include several prominent BJP leaders and representatives from various sectors. Among the potential appointees are former Trinamool Congress leader Arjun Singh, former cricketer and BJP leader Ashok Dinda, ex-Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta, and actress and BJP leader Roopa Ganguly.

It is believed that the cabinet formation will aim to achieve regional, social, and political balance to ensure representation from different parts and communities of the state. The BJP leadership intends to strengthen the administrative framework in the government’s early phase and expedite the implementation of electoral promises.

Political analysts suggest that this cabinet expansion will signal the new government’s priorities and future administrative strategies. However, the final list of ministers is expected to be officially released before the oath-taking ceremony.
