Ajmer, June 28: The Ajmer District Congress Committee organized a meeting in the Janakpuri Ganj area on Saturday as part of Rahul Gandhi‘s ‘Students’ Echo’ campaign. During the meeting, Congress leaders heavily criticized the central BJP government over the NEET paper leak and the state of the country’s education system. They claimed that incidents like the paper leak have severely harmed the hard work, hopes, and futures of millions of students.
Ajmer city Congress president Dr. Rajkumar Jaipal stated that Rahul Gandhi is deeply concerned about students’ futures, while the BJP government remains completely insensitive to their needs. He accused the NEET paper leak of undermining years of effort by countless students and asserted that the government is evading accountability on this serious issue.
Demand for Resignation of the Union Education Minister
Dr. Jaipal emphasized that the NEET paper leak is not just a failure of the examination system but a betrayal of the dreams of the nation’s youth. He called for the resignation of the Union Education Minister, asserting that Congress will not remain silent on this matter. He pledged that the party will continuously advocate for the rights and future of students.
Dr. Jaipal announced that Congress will soon engage directly with students in Ajmer’s schools and colleges. Teams are being formed to convey Rahul Gandhi’s message to the students. He stated that the aim of Congress is to understand students’ issues and provide them with a stronger platform for their voices.
Questions Raised on Education Policy and Privatization
Senior Congress leader Dharmendra Rathore noted that the current government’s flawed education policy and increasing privatization are adversely affecting the futures of ordinary and underprivileged students. He alleged that education is becoming increasingly expensive, making it difficult for children from economically weaker families to pursue higher education.
Rathore claimed that during the UPA government, substantial budgets were allocated for education, emphasizing the strengthening of the public education system. He accused the current government of cutting education budgets, which negatively impacts public educational institutions, students, and the quality of education.
Congress to Engage Directly with Students
During the meeting, Congress leaders stated that through the ‘Students’ Echo’ campaign, they will listen to students’ problems directly. Issues such as paper leaks, irregularities in the examination system, high education costs, unemployment, and the privatization of education will be addressed in dialogues with students and youth.
Congress officials mentioned that Rahul Gandhi is consistently raising the issues of youth, students, and the unemployed at the national level. This campaign aims to connect with students in Ajmer and strengthen their voices.
Paper Leak Deemed Injustice to Youth
Congress leaders asserted that the NEET paper leak incident raises serious questions about the country’s examination system. Millions of students prepare for years, and their families endure significant financial and mental struggles. If the examination process itself is called into question, it constitutes a grave injustice to the youth.
The Congress leaders demanded that the central government conduct a fair investigation into paper leak cases, take strict action against the guilty, and ensure that the examination system is made transparent and secure to prevent future incidents.
