Jaipur, June 24: Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra has launched a fierce attack on Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena. Dotasra accused Meena of allegedly extorting hundreds of crores under the guise of fertilizer and seed raids and called for an investigation by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. In response, Dr. Meena countered Dotasra’s claims by questioning the appointment of administrative officials from Dotasra’s family.
Dr. Meena had previously accused Dotasra’s son and daughter-in-law of illegally obtaining OBC certificates to qualify for the RAS. He wrote to the Chief Minister requesting an inquiry into this matter. Dotasra retaliated during a Congress event in Jaipur.
Dotasra stated publicly that Dr. Meena once told him he needed to speak separately with the Chief Minister. According to Dotasra, after their meeting, the then Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot questioned why he had brought Meena along. Dotasra claimed Gehlot revealed that Meena had pleaded with him to drop the cases against him.
Dotasra remarked that someone who had once begged Gehlot to dismiss his legal troubles should not be making accusations against him now. He insisted that Meena should first answer for his conduct and departmental actions before levying such allegations.
He also mentioned Hanuman Beniwal, stating that Meena had once challenged Beniwal but surrendered within ten minutes. Dotasra quipped that one should not provoke others to the point of ruining their old age.
Dotasra emphasized that Dr. Meena has been accusing Congress leaders for the past four years, but now it is time for an investigation into his own actions. He noted that while government officials frequently call for investigations, it is crucial to look into the alleged corruption within the agriculture department as well.
He asserted that if there is any morality left, Dr. Meena should resign. Dotasra stated that while the government can investigate the allegations against him, it is inappropriate to tarnish the reputation of individuals and their families.
He pointed out that Dr. Meena claimed to have lost sleep for nine days. Dotasra sarcastically remarked that when Meena accuses others, he sleeps soundly, but when questioned himself, he cannot find rest. He labeled this as a double standard.
Dotasra affirmed that he is not a weak individual and engages in politics out of passion, coming from a family that does not know fear. He urged Congress leaders to speak openly about the alleged corruption in the agriculture department.
He noted that no BJP minister has come forward to support Dr. Meena. Dotasra stated that everyone knows the truth of the situation. He insisted that anyone who falsely accuses others must also answer to the allegations against themselves.
Dotasra demanded that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma investigate the claims made by Dr. Meena against him and his family. He also called for an inquiry into the alleged financial misconduct surrounding the fertilizer and seed raids, questioning where the money has gone and how it has been distributed.
He alleged that approximately 1,200 raids have been conducted under the pretext of fertilizer and seeds, with a purported financial scam involving 400 to 500 crores. Dotasra challenged Dr. Meena, claiming that if he considers himself to be truly honest, he should also write to the Chief Minister regarding the alleged corruption in his own department.
In response to Dotasra’s accusations, Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena released a written statement. He stated that those who have crushed the dreams of youth through corruption and conspiracies during their rule cannot escape the truth by spreading lies.
Dr. Meena asserted that spreading falsehoods and confusion will not divert public attention from their past misdeeds. He challenged Dotasra to explain to students the wrongdoings committed to appoint family members as administrative officials. He referenced the Valmiki Ramayana, stating that the consequences of sinful actions are inevitable.
