Congress Leaders Distance Themselves from Gehlots Controversial Statement in Dausa

Dausa, June 9: During the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed District Congress Committee, leaders discussed organizational strength and upcoming election strategies. However, questions regarding former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot‘s remarks about the buying and selling of legislators heated the political atmosphere. Dausa MP Murarilal Meena and senior Congress leaders shared their responses, commenting on the ongoing discussions within the party.

Murarilal Meena reacted to Gehlot’s statement, which suggested that legislators were being offered crores for their allegiance. He asserted that if such deals were indeed happening, he would not be standing here to give a speech. He emphasized that the people of Dausa know him well and are familiar with the transparency of his political career.

Meena characterized the ongoing statements within Congress as normal discussions that occur within families, stating that there is always an exchange of ideas in large political parties. He acknowledged Gehlot as a senior and experienced leader, while Sachin Pilot represents energetic young leadership. Both leaders contribute significantly to the Congress party, which he believes will move forward with strength in the future.

Rakesh Parikh, the Dausa District In-Charge and former MLA, also commented on Gehlot’s statement, suggesting that individuals sometimes make emotional remarks at certain stages of life. His comments have sparked discussions in political circles.

When asked about the potential appointment of Sachin Pilot as the state Congress president, former minister Parsadi Lal Meena stated that strengthening the party organization is the current priority. He reiterated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s clear message for every worker to fortify their booth and empower the organization at the grassroots level. Decisions regarding state leadership will be made by the party’s central leadership.

Meena also mentioned that Rahul Gandhi praised the working styles of state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and opposition leader Tikaram Julie, encouraging others to draw inspiration from them. Regarding the Maneesar incident and attempts to topple the government, he noted that those matters are now in the past, and ultimately, the government was saved.

During the event, former minister Mamta Bhupesh criticized the state government without naming any ministers, pointing out that some ministers frequently threaten to resign, yet there is no accountability for serious incidents in their departments. She stated that the public demands answers from the government on such issues.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by several senior Congress leaders and workers, including Dausa MP Murarilal Meena, former minister Mamta Bhupesh, former MLA Rakesh Parikh, former minister Parsadi Lal Meena, and Dausa MLA Deendayal Bairwa. The event called for unity in strengthening the organization and facing upcoming electoral challenges.
