Jaipur, June 1: Hanuman Beniwal, the leader of the National Democratic Party and a Member of Parliament, has strongly criticized the comments made by BJP state president Madan Rathore regarding his alleged social boycott. Beniwal emphasized that India operates under the Constitution and laws, asserting that even khap panchayats cannot decide on social boycotts in today’s context. He described such remarks from a state president of a national party as contrary to democratic and constitutional norms.
In a media interaction, Beniwal pointed out that the people of Rajasthan had handed power to the BJP due to issues like paper leaks, crime, and the alleged mafia system during the previous government. However, he noted that the results have not met the public’s expectations since the new government took office. He accused the BJP of failing to take effective action against those responsible for paper leaks, despite promises made before the elections.
Beniwal also criticized the government regarding the protection of cattle in the state. He remarked that while the BJP was vocal on cattle-related issues when in opposition, there has been a lack of expected responses from the government on significant incidents now. He highlighted a clear disparity between electoral promises and actual actions.
Discussing the political standing of the National Democratic Party, Beniwal acknowledged that while the party’s representation in the current assembly has decreased compared to before, it has established itself as a third political option in Rajasthan. He claimed that his party continues to raise issues concerning farmers, youth, the unemployed, and the general public.
Indicating potential legal action regarding the BJP president‘s statement, Beniwal mentioned that he is consulting senior advocates from the High Court and Supreme Court. He stressed that comments about social boycotts should not be taken lightly and accountability must be established for such statements.
Targeting the state government and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Beniwal stated that issues like crime, unemployment, and basic necessities such as roads, water, and electricity remain serious concerns. He accused the government of lacking the necessary sensitivity to public welfare issues. Furthermore, he affirmed that the RLP will continue to fight for the interests of the saint community and the public, referencing the Bhairana Dham movement.
