RANCHI, April 12 Residents across Jharkhand have found much-needed respite from the scorching heat as the state experiences a shift in weather patterns over the past four to five days. With intermittent cloud cover and cooler winds, the temperatures have slightly dipped, offering temporary relief. However, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), these conditions are expected to continue only until April 15, after which clear skies and warmer weather may return.

Yellow Alert Issued for Thunderstorms and Strong Winds
The recent changes in weather are attributed to the formation of a low-pressure system and the influx of moisture-laden winds over the region. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for several parts of Jharkhand, warning of:
-
Thunderstorms with lightning
-
Wind speeds reaching 30–40 km/h
Citizens are advised to take precautions during this period, especially in areas vulnerable to strong wind gusts and sudden weather fluctuations.
City-Wise Weather Update: Mild Heat and Breezy Conditions
On Saturday, April 12, the weather across major Jharkhand cities remained moderate:
-
Ranchi: Maximum temperature 33.2°C
-
Jamshedpur: 35.6°C
-
Daltonganj: 35.0°C
-
Bokaro: 36.6°C
In Ranchi and surrounding areas, moderate winds kept daytime temperatures in check, reducing the intensity of afternoon heat. The combination of cloud cover and steady breeze helped maintain a comfortable climate.
Forecast: Heat to Return After April 15
While current conditions have provided relief, the IMD warns that the cool spell is temporary. After April 15, the skies are expected to clear up, possibly leading to a rise in daytime temperatures. The public is urged to remain hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours once the temperatures begin to climb again.
