Chittorgarh, March 19: In a significant crackdown against illegal drug trafficking, the Shambhupura police have seized approximately 38 kilograms of illicit opium during Operation “Trinetra.” This operation is part of a special initiative aimed at combating drug smuggling in the district.
District Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi stated that the operation is being conducted under the directives of the Inspector General of the Udaipur range. The team, led by Station House Officer Dharmraj Meena and supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police Sarita Singh and DSP Vinod Lakhera, set up a blockade on the Gilund-Arnod road.
During the blockade, a suspicious Alto car was signaled to stop. However, the driver accelerated and fled towards the hilly area upon seeing the police. Despite a chase, the driver managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Upon searching the abandoned vehicle, police discovered around 38 kilograms of illegal opium. The authorities have confiscated both the narcotics and the vehicle, and a case has been registered for further investigation.
The police are now actively searching for the fleeing suspect and attempting to dismantle the entire trafficking network.
👉 The police have urged the public to report any drug trafficking or suspicious activities immediately to the nearest police station, control room, or the narcotics helpline at 94604-25643.
