Jaipur: Rajasthan witnessed a significant dip in temperatures following rainfall on Friday, with several districts experiencing cold winds from Thursday afternoon. Cities in northeastern Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Sikar, and Churu, saw maximum daytime temperatures drop by up to 6°C.
The Meteorological Department in Jaipur has forecasted further temperature decline and intensified cold conditions across the state until January 26. Despite the chill, clear skies and sunny days are expected.

Cold Winds Sweep Through the State
Cold winds originating from the north swept through Karauli, Baran, Dholpur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, and Bhilwara, causing maximum temperatures to plummet by 3°C to 6°C.
- Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 24.7°C,
- Ajmer: 24.5°C,
- Kota: 23.1°C,
- Barmer: 26.7°C,
- Udaipur: 24.8°C,
- Jodhpur: 25.2°C,
- Bikaner: 23.4°C.

Cold Wave Intensifies Across Northeast Rajasthan
Cities like Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu experienced biting cold winds late in the evening, significantly increasing the chill factor. Residents reported an increase in discomfort as temperatures dipped sharply.
Weather Outlook for the Coming Days
The Jaipur Meteorological Centre predicts dry weather and persistent cold winds across Rajasthan for the next four days. This is expected to further drop temperatures by 2°C to 3°C over the next two to three days, intensifying the morning and evening chill.
By January 28-29, the influence of northern winds will subside, making way for western winds. This change is likely to result in a gradual rise in temperatures, providing some relief from the cold.
Prepare for a Chilly Week
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm, particularly during the early morning and evening hours. The cold wave and dropping temperatures highlight the need for layered clothing and limited exposure to the cold winds.
