Udaipur is preparing for the launch of its third Vande Bharat Express, which will operate between Udaipur and Gujarat’s Asarva station. The Railway Board has sought a proposal for this route, and planning is already underway under the Western Railway zone in Mumbai. If all goes well, an official announcement could be made in February 2025.

Operational Schedule
The proposed train is expected to run six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. It will leave Udaipur at 6:10 AM and reach Asarva by 10:25 AM. On the return trip, the train will depart from Asarva at 5:45 PM and reach Udaipur by 10:00 PM. The train will consist of eight chair car coaches, offering a comfortable travel experience.
Possibility of a Sleeper Vande Bharat Train
The Railways is also considering introducing a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express, connecting Jaipur, Udaipur, and Ahmedabad. This would cater to long-distance travelers and provide an upgraded option for overnight journeys.
Electrification Milestone
The electrification of the Udaipur-Asarva route was recently completed, enabling faster and more efficient train operations. The first fully electrified services began earlier this month, with the Indore-Asarva Express starting on January 11 and the Kota-Asarva Express on January 14.

Existing Vande Bharat Services in Udaipur
Udaipur already operates two Vande Bharat Express trains. The Udaipur-Jaipur train runs on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while the Udaipur-Agra Cantt train operates on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The addition of the third train will further enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers.
