Head Coach Michael Klinger Confident About Team’s Performance
Ahmedabad, February 6 Gujarat Giants, the Adani Sportsline-owned franchise, has officially unveiled its jersey for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. With the tournament set to kick off on February 14, the season will be played across four venues Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
The team’s jersey launch event, held in Ahmedabad, was attended by Head Coach Michael Klinger, star players Harleen Deol and Shabnam Shakil, and Adani Sportsline’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) Sanjay Adesara.

Coach Klinger’s Bold Statement: ‘Our Goal is to Win the Championship’
Speaking at the press event, head coach Michael Klinger emphasized the team’s ambition to clinch the WPL 2025 title.
“Our goal this year is clear we are here to compete and win the championship. The players are excited, and with foreign players joining us in the next couple of days, we will begin preparations in full swing. We are determined to play high-quality cricket and qualify for the finals. There is no stepping back from this challenge.”
Harleen Deol Excited for Her Comeback Season
Star Indian all-rounder Harleen Deol, who missed the previous season due to injury, expressed her enthusiasm about returning to the team.
“I couldn’t play last season due to injury, and that has made me even more eager to step back onto the field this year. I have great memories of scoring my first century in Vadodara, but in cricket, every match starts from zero. I am looking forward to giving my best performance in this tournament.”
Young Talent Shabnam Shakil Credits WPL for Her Growth
Young pacer Shabnam Shakil shared how being part of Gujarat Giants in the WPL has helped her evolve as a cricketer.
“Being in the WPL has been a transformative experience for me. Playing alongside experienced Indian and international players has taught me a lot. Last season, I got the opportunity to play four matches, and those learnings will help me grow further this season.”
