Mumbai, January 25 : In a thrilling encounter at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Jammu & Kashmir secured a memorable 5-wicket victory over Mumbai in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Despite a valiant century from Shardul Thakur, Mumbai failed to defend their target, marking a historic win for Jammu & Kashmir.

Mumbai’s First Innings Struggle
Mumbai skipper Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first after winning the toss, but the decision backfired as the team crumbled under pressure. Mumbai’s top order faltered, with Yashasvi Jaiswal (4), Rohit Sharma (3), Ajinkya Rahane (12), and Shreyas Iyer (11) failing to make an impact. The scoreboard read a dismal 47/7, leaving Mumbai on the brink of disaster.
Shardul Thakur (51) and Tanush Kotian (26) then stabilized the innings with a gritty partnership, lifting Mumbai to a modest total of 120 runs.
For Jammu & Kashmir, Umar Nazir and Yudhvir Singh claimed 4 wickets each, while Aaqib Nabi added 2 scalps to his tally, ensuring a dominant start for the visitors.
